DO Chacoli de Guetaria

Geography
 
            Situated along the Atlantic Coast east of the town of Bilbao and west of the town of San Sebastian. 
 
Climate
 
            Due to hills along the coast, the climate is fairly temperate, however, cool and rainy days are the norm more often than not.

DO Chacoli de Vizcaya

Geography
 
            The vineyards covered by the DO Chacoli de Vizcaya stretch from the town of Bilbao inland to just north of DO Chacoli de Alava.
 
Climate
 
            Cool, rainy, Atlantic climate. Some of the vineyards in the southern reaches of the DO experience a more a continental influence.
 
            Average temperature: 45F-66F, but it can get as cool as 36F and as hot as 95F.
 
            Average rainfall: 63 inches.

DO Chacoli de Alava

Geography
 
            The southernmost of the three Chacoli’s, DO Chacoli de Alava is inland towards Rioja. DO Chacoli de Vizcaya is to the north and west with Chacoli de Guetaria located to the northeast along the Atlantic. 
 
Climate
 
            More continental than the other two Basque DOs. Considerable rainfall and overcast skies are still the norm in these parts, but much less so than the grape growing neighbors to the north.
 
            Average temperature: 45F-66F, but it can get as cool as 36F and as hot as 95F.
