DO Alicante

            The Alicante DO is split into two separate areas along the eastern coast of the country. One area, Alicante, stretches northwest from the coastal city of Alicante. The northern boundary of this portion of the DO is joined by Valencia DO. The second zone is along the coast to the northeast of Alicante and surrounds the towns of Parcent and Calpe. This subzone, Marina Alta is directly east of the Valencia DO.

 

            Along the coastal section of Alicante, the weather is Mediterranean and includes hot and humid patterns. Further inland, a more continental and drier climate dominates.
